Mr. Ng, founder of Agape Counselling Centre Malaysia in 1986, also a founding member of the Malaysia Art Therapy Associates in 1998, is the first Malaysian to be granted the Approved Provider by the Association for Play Therapy(APT) in 2008. He furthered his study at the University of North Texas (UNT) in 1999, after being in the counselling field for 20 years. He was awarded an in-state tuition scholarship by the Centre for Play. Mr. Ng was a student of Dr. Garry Landreth, the director and founder of the Center for Play at UNT. He also learnt art therapy from Dr. Gussack at the State University of Emporia, Kansas. Prior to USA, he attended a summer course in expressive arts at the European Graduate School in Switzerland. Mr. Ng now runs his own private clinic with various therapeutic modalities such as play, expressive arts and sandtray therapy.
In 2006 -2008, he became consultant for Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaya's Children & Adolescents Unit, in setting up play and sandtray therapy. Prior in 2005, he was commissioned by the Selayang Hospital's Palliative Care Unit, to conduct art therapy for the terminal cancer patients and in-house training. Since 2002, he has been guest lecturer and trainer for Beijing University, Beijing Normal Principal University, Qingdao Adult Education Centre, Shanghai Huadong University, Hangzhou Counselling Training Centre, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Soul-mate Publication and Counseling Centre, YMCA Macau, Institut Penguruan Tun Razak, and Malaysia Chinese Medicine College.
